About our Services
Landscape Design and Renovation

Do you charge for estimates?

No, we do not charge for landscape estimates. However, we do charge for landscape designs.

Do you provide landscape designs?

Yes. We can professionally design and install your landscape; however, there is a charge for the design. The design is free if you sign a contract with Rampion Landscaping.

Do I need to be home for a free estimate?

The answer to that question is no. You do not need to be home for us to do an estimate. However, at some early point, we must discuss your job with you in detail so you know all the options that are open to you for your particular project.

What does a typical landscape renovation cost?

Costs can range greatly depending on things like site accessibility, removal of existing plant material and hardscaping materials, and grade or drainage issues. A thorough evaluation of the site and landscape plan is necessary to provide an accurate estimate.

Why should I spend money improving my landscape?

Your landscape is one of the few investments you can make that will result in a significant improvement in the value of your property.

Why do you ask what my budget is?

Because we want to meet your needs. If we know the details of your budget, we can provide you with proposals that match your priorities and finances.

How do you charge for your services?

You will receive an itemized estimate showing all of the materials and labor costs required to complete your project. We will work with you to meet your landscaping requirements consistent with your personal financial commitment.

How long does it take to get a design done?

Most designs require 2-3 weeks after the initial meeting. Circumstances such as time of year, referral, timing needs and scope of the project can influence the timeframe as well.
When can you start?

Work is scheduled in the order we receive signed contracts with deposits. It is impossible to give a firm start date, because we are dependent on weather conditions. We do give an estimate of when your work will start.

How does weather affect your operation?

Weather is the number one factor in the amount of progress we can make during a job. Obviously, almost all of our work takes place outdoors. When the weather is uncooperative, it has an effect on how quickly we can complete your project.

Will I have the same crew throughout my landscape project?

Yes, from start to finish, if possible.

Landscape Maintenance

Is your landscape maintenance estimate free?

Certainly. Our initial consultation and quote for services is free. We complete a thorough site evaluation prior to providing a quote for services, so we can custom-tailor the program best suited to your needs.

What does your full-service maintenance program include?

Each program is tailored to the property; however, full-service maintenance typically includes weeding, pruning, plant care, mowing, lawn fertilization and weed control.

Ponds

What are the main components I need to build a pond?

There are five main components that Rampion Landscaping, LLC provides: falls and skimmer units (filter systems), rubber liner, pump, plumbings and fittings, boulders and gravel. Ecosystem = Filtration system, rocks and gravel, re-circulation system (pumps and plumbing) fish, and aquatic plants.

Winter Services

What do you do in the winter months?

In the winter months we do snow and ice removal. We are also available to hang your Christmas lights and decorations.

About our Plants

Do you sell trees, shrubs, and landscape materials?

Yes. We can get any trees or shrubs you require for your project. We offer mulch, rock, brick, pavers, and anything else you may need for you landscaping project.

Are your plants guaranteed?

All of our plant material, hardscape materials and labor are conditionally guaranteed with proper client care. We will replace, once, any tree, shrub, evergreen or woody vine that fails to grow within one year of installation. This is provided that the plants have had adequate care. We will not replace plants killed by rodents, insects, mechanical damage, owner neglect or natural disasters. We do a final walk-through with our clients to be sure that they are satisfied with the results, and provide them with a maintenance care sheet.

What is the difference between annual and perennial flowers?

Perennial plants are those that may grow and bloom in spring, summer or fall, then go into a dormant state over the winter months. The benefit of perennials is that they return year after year. Annuals, on the other hand, are plants grown for their “instant” impact, usually producing a season-long period of blooms that disappear over winter. Unlike perennials, they do not come back in spring, and need to be replaced each year.

When should we have our spring blooming plants pruned?

The best time to prune is in spring, as soon as the plants are done blooming. You can simply prune off the spent flower, or you can use this opportunity to shape and reduce the plant size.

When and how should shrub roses be pruned?

Shrub roses should be pruned, at the first set of five leaves, when they have spent flower heads. This will help them bloom more profusely, if they are a variety that blooms more than once.

When is the best time to fertilize my trees and shrubs?

The best time to fertilize your trees and shrubs is in the fall, after the plants have gone dormant. In late October, you can either core feed with a granular fertilizer or you can deep root-feed with a liquid fertilizer.
